Darren Demaree

Darren Demaree is in his 50s.



Darren’s long journey to becoming a mental health counselor began in Southern California. He grew up in Los Angeles County and went to San Diego State University earning a degree in Business Finance. Most importantly at SDSU, he committed his life to Christ. During this time, he met his wonderful wife, and together they served as campus ministers with CRU.

After serving in this ministry for a few years, God called Darren to the pastorate. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Western in British Columbia, Canada. He served as a pastor for many years.

In his mid-fifties, with God’s calling, a heart’s desire, and a skill set, Darren pursued a career change. Today, he is midway through the Master in Arts of Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University.

As a minister for 25 years, Darren has worked with issues that include: loss/grief; marriage/family; addiction; and all kinds of relational work. Darren’s main counseling therapeutic is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). This means he focuses on the thinking patterns that might affect behavior. Additionally, he likes to integrate other therapeutic methods such as Adlerian and psychoanalytical which help explore past influences that affect the current issue. Plus, he is a Prepare/Enrich facilitator. Darren has an empathetic heart and has a passion for helping people find wellness.

Darren is a widower, his wife of 31 years passed away 3 years ago. He has three beautiful adult daughters. Darren plays competitive golf and enjoys running, hiking, watching sports, and working on puzzles. Darren attends Good Shepherd Church in Loveland.
