Children face unique challenges and need specialized support to thrive. We are passionate about helping children and families navigate through big emotions. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can express themselves, build resilience, and discover their strengths.
Our counselors work to establish a trusting relationship with each child where they feel heard, understood, and supported. Each counselor has expertise in a range of needs, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, grief and loss, autism spectrum disorders, and more.
How do we work with kids?
At Lighthouse, we tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each child, considering their age, developmental stage, and individual strengths. Our counselors will use a combination of Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, Parent/Caregiver Support, and other modes to help children process emotions, identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, manage anxiety, develop problem-solving skills, and establish confidence in who God made them.
